Can You Reuse a Candle Box and Insert When Changing Jars?
A practical check for candle brands with box stock: decide separately whether the outer box and the insert can fit the new vessel.

Changing a candle jar does not automatically mean replacing every part of the retail pack. It also does not mean an existing box and insert will fit. Treat the outer box and the insert as two separate decisions. A new vessel may fit within the box while failing to seat in the insert, or the insert may hold the body while the lid prevents the box from closing.
Record the parts you already have
Start with the usable inside length, width and height of the closed box. Record the insert opening, the points where it supports the jar, and any space reserved for the lid. If the box has a window, note where the vessel and logo should appear behind it. Keep the original box and insert drawing if you have one; otherwise, mark your measurements on photographs.
For the new jar, request the selected model’s drawing. Note the mouth, base, maximum outer width or diameter, body height and assembled height with its chosen lid. A capacity label alone cannot answer the fit question. The mouth diameter also cannot stand in for the widest point of a shaped jar.
Use a real size comparison to shortlist, not approve
The glass candle-cup size reference lists models 9507 and 9508 at the same 200 ml capacity and 80 mm height. Their mouth diameters are 70 and 73 mm respectively; their base diameters are 65 and 68 mm. Even with the same capacity and height, those differences could matter where an insert supports the vessel. These are body reference measurements; they do not identify a specific gallery photograph or establish a matching lid, widest body diameter or packaging fit.
Make two separate fit decisions
Outer box: compare its internal space with the full chosen assembly, including the lid. Check whether the box closes as intended and, if relevant, whether the jar and artwork align with its window. Record the result as “retain,” “change” or “await drawing/sample.”
Insert: compare its opening and support points with the new jar’s actual body. If a physical sample is available, place the selected jar and lid in the original insert and box to see whether the vessel seats as intended. Record the insert result independently of the box result. A photo or listed capacity is not a fit test.
Ask the supplier to confirm the selected parts, their dimensions and any tolerances that affect the proposed pack. Do not assume a fixed clearance or a transport-protection result from these reference measurements.
When the drawing is still missing
The KALINI Signature 320 has a confirmed 320 ml container-capacity label and a faceted square glass form. Its exact drawing for the chosen configuration is still needed before deciding whether an older box or insert can be reused. Mark both decisions as pending, request that drawing, then compare it with your box and insert and check the intended assembly.
Send a brief that keeps the decision clear
- Original box internal dimensions, insert opening and support positions, plus photos or drawings.
- New vessel model or product reference, chosen lid and the exact drawing or sample requested.
- Separate decisions for the outer box and insert, with any window or logo alignment requirement.
- Estimated quantity and the color, logo and packaging changes you want to discuss.
Use the KALINI customization overview to describe the new vessel and packaging direction, then send your project brief with the remaining fit questions.
